Since Black Friday and CyberMonday is approaching, everyone has a favorite geek in their life whether it's a relative, friend, or even a spouse. But...what to get them? Hmmm...
Shopping for a Christmas gift idea for a geek is difficult, but you can buy a decent Christmas gift. Here is a list of some of the latest and unique Christmas gifts for your loveable geek this season.
- For the blogger in your life, have them expand their talents with the
- All freelancers are working their butt off, but maybe you shouldn't be working so hard. Take a load off and start leading the life you want through Timothy Ferriss's best selling book called The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich. Everyone has sworn by it and maybe it will make your life a little easier as well.
- By now, the craze of the iPhone has worn off, right? Noooo, not really. Apple's iPhone 8GB is still selling strong and may get your geek to foam at the mouth by even mentioning it. Make sure you get him or her one for Christmas!
- Did you know that the Nintendo Wii is STILL selling like hotcakes? Here's proof. And if you still don't believe me, check this article. One of my friends got lucky and JUST purchased one on Thursday, so they are out there on shelves.
- Even though you can stuff a lot of MP3's on a CD, most people would just like to take an 8GB SD card with them. But how do you take it with you in the car? For the car audio geeks out there, you'll be surprised to see a trickle of audio receivers that are now starting to include Secure Digital slots. A great Christmas gift would be the Boss Mobile DVD Player with USB and Memory Card Ports BV2950TU. Oh, and yes, it has a TV Tuner and can play DVD's as well.
- If you go on vacation, you don't want to lug around a laptop. Make sure you take your portable hard drive that accepts any Flash media from your digital camera or digital camcorder. If you are a geek, this will definitely help you with any traveling media.
- If the iPhone is too much money, try The Nokia N800 Internet Tablet PC or the Nokia N810 Portable Internet Tablet. Each is considered the ultimate Linux handheld for the geek who wants portable media. Because of the recent news with a Garnet VM, this may be a great time to pick up either one.
- If you're a programmer, you know that Mountain Dew or Jolt is what gets your fingers flicking on those keys to crank out code, so make sure you have a cold mini desk refrigerator handy for your energy fuel.
- Most geeks have some old hard drives lying around, but don't know what's on them. You can't read them until you actually hook them up and reboot a PC. The 2.5" and 3.5" SATA HDD Stage Rack takes your old hard drives and attaches them through a USB port. Definitely a great Christmas gift idea for geeks who have everything.
- Every geek is looking for the most portable, flexible, and smallest laptop that can do everything they need while out on the road. Well, the ASUS EEE PC 4G Notebook PC (7", 512 MB RAM), Pearl White is perfect for the holidays for ONLY $400. There are different flavors (different memory sizes), but I'm hoping Santa will be bring an Asus 8GB version this Christmas.
