Free Open Source Business Applications
Software can be expensive if you're starting a business. Or can it?
When starting a business, you may encounter the price of software may outweigh the price of hardware. But nowadays, software doesn't have to be expensive to provide enterprise-level benefits.
Line56.com posted the Top 10 Free Business Intelligence Applications. Naturally, all of them are open source and this article provides more acronyms than a CES show.
This article reminds me of InfoWorld's article on how to build a business with open source, which is located in the archives. The article provides at least 3 or 4 applications in each of the following categories:
- Open Source Business Intelligence
- Open Source Business Process Management
- Open Source Content Management
- Open Source CRM
- Open Source ERP
- Open Source Enterprise Service Bus
- Open Source Identity
- Open Source Directory
- Open Source Portals
- Open Source Point of Sale
- Open Source RFID
- Open Source VOIP/Telephony
Definitely a great find for entrepreneurs who are starting up a business and working with a limited budget.
If I find more articles on this particular topic, I'll post them here.
