New: Five-Fox Award for Firefox extensions
Introducing the Five-Fox Award for exceptional Firefox extensions.
With all of the extensions I've reviewed in the last two years (and the future extensions I will review), I feel the authors of those extensions deserve some recognition and what better way than to present them with an award.
The Five-Fox Award is presented to authors of extensions I've reviewed that have received a 5 out of 5 for their outstanding extension.
Here is a little mini-FAQ:
Q: Where are all of the old reviews of Fireday?
A: The reviews are still there. If you select a Firefox extension from the list on the Fireday page, you'll see the date it was reviewed and a link called "Original Post." Click the link and you'll see the post.
Q: Is there anything different about these reviews from the original post?
A: No. Not really. All of the Fireday reviews have been rewritten to support the new hReview Microformat. If you have questions about this new format, refer to the Operator Firefox Extension and add the hReview.js script to detect hReviews on web pages.Q: How do I get my award?
A: On the Five-Fox Award page, of course.Q: What's the catch?
A: No catch. This award is given to you for your hard work and nicely written Firefox extension. I "kick the tires" of the extension for a week, review it, report back on the results, and give it an honest rating.
Q: For the award, I don't want a link going back to the review on your site.
A: Well, ok. When you go to the FiveFox Award page, I added a checkbox on the page to give you the option to "Attach the review as a link to the graphic?" Just make sure the checkbox isn't checked when you grab your code.
Just take the award as a thank you for a great extension.Q: Are there any other award graphics you have besides the three?
A: No. If none of the award graphics fit into your site layout, please contact me and let me know. I will do what I can to accommodate you.Q: Why do some of the extensions say 'Not Rated Yet?'
A: Back then, these extensions were being reviewed, but not rated. Then I came up with the idea of giving extension a rating. Rest assured...I will be going back and rating them. :-)
Q: I don't see my question on this mini-FAQ?
A: Don't worry. If you have a question, please contact me and I'll be happy to answer your question.
Phew...maybe it wasn't a mini-FAQ, but it definitely should answer any questions you have regarding the Five-Fox award.
I will continue to review the best (and worst) Firefox extensions to maximize your browsing experience.
