Yesterday, I posted about how busy my schedule was for the last three months and how hard it has been to build this social network.

With that said, I would like to introduce TriYou to everyone.

History of TriYou

One day, the founder was talking to me about this idea he had where everyone ranked their favorite media, whether it be music, books, or movies (DVDs). The TriYou community could discuss the importance of one movie as opposed to another or find other people who have similar interests by looking through their top ten lists and comment on them.

I immediately thought this was an exceptional idea and started working through the technical aspect of it. Since I was well-versed in Microsoft technologies, I stuck with Microsoft.

The entire web site is built from scratch using the Microsoft stack of technologies. I will go into the stack of technologies used on TriYou in a future post.

After we were 3/4 of the way through building the web site, we found another site where some "other people" thought it was a good idea as well.

Features of TriYou

We will be adding more features in the future to make the site more interactive. The current features of TriYou include:

  • Create your own top 10 list of books, music, or movies.

  • What are you reading, watching, or listening to right now? Post your activity on the TriBar for your users to see what you're into at the moment.

  • Comment on your friends list.

  • Write reviews about your favorite media, whether it be a part in a movie, your favorite song of all time, or the best book you've ever read.

  • Post a video from YouTube on a product page.

  • Upload and show off your photos to your friends.

Even though the site is functioning and it contains everyone's favorite top 10 media, the site isn't finished yet.

Give us your feedback

At this point, this is where the community steps in to critique the site. If you want to learn more about TriYou, check out the Getting Started page to give you a kick-start on how to use TriYou.

If there is something that isn't functioning properly or a certain feature you would like to see on TriYou, contact me here with my feedback page or contact me by the feedback form on TriYou.
