Everyone has been trying to lose weight and use this and that diet program, but what about us developers who are always under the gun. Nutrition is definitely not one of our top priorities in the game of life.

Cool AJAX UI Templating Trick with ASP.NET

Here's a cool way to update non-update panel scenarios with AJAX in ASP.NET

Since Atlas (Microsoft's AJAX implementation) has been released as beta, Scott Guthrie has posted an excellent technique on his blog about how to call the server using AJAX, return a web user control for the UI to render, and update a non-updatable panel.

His method uses a simple web service and he describes that this technique reduces code to about ~20 lines of code. He is basically moving the Web User Controls out of the UI and into the server. The web control's string is passed back to the client.

A new version of Songbird has been released! Extensions have arrived for the Songbird.

Back in September, I talked about Songbird as an iTunes alternative. Since then, I've been waiting for the extensions to emerge.

Now, Songbird 0.2 is released with extensions. Since it builds off of the Firefox extensions architecture, the music extensions should will be familiar to Firefox users.
