Code Monkey's Unite! All programmers should use this as their theme song.

Jonathan Coulton previously was a programmer, but decided to pursue other avenues in his life.

One of his greatest songs, in my opinion, is Code Monkey. The song talks about basically a programmer's life and what he has to deal with everyday.

I'm back from being out almost a week.

Last Thursday night, I started getting sick and since then I haven't been 100% functional.

After getting over a sickness this past week, (as the song goes) I can see clearly now (literally) and start writing again.

Google Apps for your domain has gone premium for businesses.

Wow. Where do I start with this news since I've seen it here, here, here, here, here...oh...and here.

I am happy that Google Apps are moving towards a business model, but even happier that they are pursuing a MS Office mentality. Collaboration is what businesses need, but with the proper security enabled. I have noticed a couple URL's with Google that are missing the "https" at the beginning.

Google is acquiring again...look out!

Back in December, I predicted Google would make a major purchase this year and according to CNet, Google is looking into acquiring AdScape for $23 million.

I admit it's a purchase, but my gut instinct tells me that this wasn't the big purchase that I predicted.

How to store your photos and videos on vacation

How do you store your media while on vacation? Here are the gadgets I used without breaking my back.

Using technology on vacation is very tempting. I thought about borrowing a laptop to haul down to Florida, but imagine hauling that around. Yikes! You need to relax and enjoy yourself, but you want a sufficient amount of techie stuff to get the job done. I might add that taking too many gadgets on vacation may upset your better half as well.

However, I didn't want to be left with a ton of pictures to take and no SD cards to write to. I wanted to "capture the moments." In the computer industry, there is a saying: you can never have too much memory or hard drive space and this vacation was no exception.

This week: Stylish and Tab Effect

Stylish

Rating: 5/5

Stylish is an extension that allows your inner designer to take over and create a different web site based on a style sheet. You could even look at this extension as an...well, extension of the CSS zen garden. Without turning this Fireday into a CSS explanation, CSS is meant to change the presentation of a web site without altering the content. The Zen Garden shows the full extent of this technology, which by the way, rocks! You could apply a holiday theme to your entire web site with just one CSS file. How cool is that?

Fireday - Firefox extension reviews for February 2, 2007

This week: Statusable, NSFW Extension, and SiteDelta.

Statusable

Rating: 5/5

If you've been with me since the first Fireday, you've obviously heard me talk about how my status bar has a ton of icons on the bottom of Firefox. Well, there is a new extension I've added to my list called Statusable.

Statusable creates a new status bar and attaches it to the bottom of Firefox. My extensions in my status bar were shifted up and voila! I could see my URLs again.

Since Firefox has released it's 2.0 version and is moving towards a 3.0 release, and since everyone installs numerous extensions, may I propose that this become a native feature in Firefox 3.0. This is an awesome fix for extension overload. However, one thing that users may complain about is that the extension is only compatible with Firefox 2.0 or higher.

Overall, Statusable is not hard to install and even though it takes up a little more room in my browsing display, it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make for the gluttony of more extensions...muhahahahahaha.

Ahem...err...ahh...anyway.
