Here are the Small Business Briefs for the week.
Duct Tape Marketing
This week, congratulations to John Jantsch from Duct Tape Marketing. He released his first book appropriately called Duct Tape Marketing.
The book creates a roadmap for charting your small business into marketing waters. I've got a copy on the way and I'm definitely looking forward to reading it.
The book has topped Amazon at #5 and is receiving a lot of praise from readers and big name companies. More reason for small businesses and entrepreneurs to buy it.
What can we learn from The Apprentice?
Donald Trump has been a favorite of mine for a long time and since the Rosie O'Donnell incident, I've respected the man even more. Now, since Mr. Trump has a new Apprentice season in the lead of prime time shows, the man definitely has a lot of talent that was hidden from the public until now.
Every week on his blog, Trump University, he currently has a "The Apprentice: What I've learned in Episode n." His take on last weeks show is a great way for a CEO/Entrepreneur of his stature to look back on what happened and provide his viewpoints on his own personal blog for the public to view. Heck, all he has to do is TiVo it to see his high and low points of each show.
How to get a digital MBA
(Ref: lifehacker)Podcasts are becoming such a mainstream item that universities are getting in on the act. Open Culture.com posted an article discussing America's Best Business Schools on your iPod.
Not only can you get podcasts from universities like Wharton at the University of Pennsylvania, Harvard in Cambridge, The Chicago University Graduate School of Business, and the Duke's Fuqua School of Business, but all of them can be downloaded directly from iTunes or an RSS Feed that you set up in your own feed reader.
Who said you need to pay a ton of money for an education?
10 Books for every Business Leader
The Church of the Customer Blog posted a list of 10 books for every business leader. Some of the books include The Effective Executive, First Break all the Rules, and, my favorite, The Purple Cow.
All of them are top-notch books geared towards certain aspects of business. I won't recommend all of them because I just don't know what you're interested in. :-)
