Newest Firefox extensions discussed every Friday.

It's been a busy week for me. Family. Work. News to catch up on. Oh, did I mention Family? :-)

However, I've found some time to look over some interesting extensions for this week.

FoxyProxy

If you use Firefox with a proxy, then FoxyProxy is the extension for you. FoxyProxy allows you to define multiple proxies and define which URL can go to a particular proxy server, complete with wildcards, regular expressions, and more.

The other feature I like is the Proxy Auto-Config (PAC) support included in FoxyProxy. Great feature! 5 out of 5 for flexibility and complete configuration support.

PDF Download

I'm a PDF junkie and as most of you know, there are tons of PDFs out there. When you click on a PDF and the PDF Download extension is installed, the PDF Download extension allows you one of three options:

  • Download it
  • Open PDF
  • or View it as HTML

The PDF Download is an essential extension for document management power users.

XSD Schema Validator

With AJAX hanging around lately and XML being a key player in AJAX (that's what the 'X' stands for), a XSD Schema Validator is a pretty utility to have around.

Enter in the filename and the extension will validate your XSD for you, in no time flat. :-)

See everyone next week.
