CNet reviews five of the latest RSS readers.

Steve Rubel, over at Micro Persuasion, beat me to the post. :-)

Everyone has an RSS reader nowadays, whether it be on- or off-line.

CNET reviews the following products/sites:

  • Bloglines (online)
  • Rojo (online)
  • Google Reader (online)
  • FeedDemon (offline)
  • NewsGator InBox 2.6 for Outlook (offline)

As noted before in my other posts, I've strictly been using FeedDemon and Google Reader as my primary tools for RSS. The only thing that is stopping me from going completely with Google Reader is the FeedDemon's watches. This feature itself was worth the product.

FeedDemon watches allow you to type in keywords you are interested in filtering out when you receive your RSS feeds. All of your results go into a watch folder. This is great for finding Internet deals all over the Internet, which is how I built my TiVo.

Personally, I think this is a great follow-up to the RSS articles I posted previously here and here about what RSS stands for and how to use it.
