Rock On, Man! Even without a Playstation or XBox.

Guitar Hero is one of those games you have to try just to see if you can. Just make sure you don't have anyone else around you. It's hilarious.

I have to admit that I liked playing Guitar Hero on the Playstation at my friends house and yes, I did look silly playing that guitar, swinging my arms and the guitar into the air.

C'mon...you've played the air guitar once in your lifetime. Admit it! Fun, isn't it?

Now, thanks to some more friends on the Internet, they've made me aware of an alternative to Guitar Hero called Frets On Fire and it's FREE!

It's an exact duplicate (aside from the background animations) of Guitar Hero, but the one great thing about this program is that unlike the Playstation and XBox, you can update the program with additional songs from the Internet. Definite extendability!

The forums have some great user-defined songs made specifically for Frets On Fire and more are being made as we speak. Now, isn't that cheaper than going out and buying ANOTHER version of Guitar Hero for $50.00?

The only warning I have for everyone is make sure you have a cordless keyboard, or 1). you may get carried away and kick over your amp (translation: your PC) in all the shredin' your doing and 2). you may do a stroll with your guitar picking and unplug your keyboard. :-)

So rock on, dude! G'nite all!

Great find! However, after shredding for about 30 minutes, my fret wrist HURTS! ;)

If you have a Wii, you can get the Wii Guitar to work with a Bluetooth adapter. I used the IOGear GBU221 adapter and I'm rocking with FoF with the Wii Guitar.

You just need to install GlovePIE which can be retrieved from http://carl.kenner.googlepages.com/glovepie.

GlovePIE uses a scripting language to map the Wii Remote buttons and actions to specific key presses. It even has objects set up specifically for the guitar so you can access properties such as the Whammy bar and sense movement of the controller.

It Rocks Dude! ;)
