Anybody wonder why I haven't posted for a week and a half? I had a family crisis and a real eye-opener.

September 17, 2006 will go down in my personal history as the beginning of the worst week of my life. I know this is a technology/business blog and this is a little off-topic, but I feel I needed to let some people know about what happened to my family over the past week and why its been a little sparse on this site for the past week and a half and why I'm still trying to get my head screwed back on.

This is basically the first post since September 15, 2006, but for good reason.

On September 17, 2006 at 7:45p, my wife was upset because she started to feel a little tingling in a portion of her hand and on the right side of her tongue. The tingling went away after a couple seconds, but she started having a problem putting sentences together. I immediately called the paramedics and they arrived quickly. The paramedics took my wife's blood pressure. It was 220 over 153.

My wife had two strokes that night and was in the hospital for almost a week. Naturally, I have been worried sick about her since it happened and have been playing Mr. Mom with my 10 year old son.

If you have a significant other in your life, and that other is taken from you for a short period of time, it truly wakes you up. As my father would say, you are hit upside the head with the "Brick of Reality."

My wife is home now and she's doing 100% better. During that time in the hospital, they did an an MRI, an EEG and every other medical acronym you can think of. I can't wait to see this doctor bill.

But it is definitely worth it. :-)
