How the power of APIs has increased Web 2.0's visibility.
The User Interface 10 conference that occurred last year has a great article on the Power Behind the Hype with Web 2.0.
Jared M. Spool talks about how the new age of APIs on web sites allow developers and designers to access the interfaces to use on their own web sites. One of the best examples of this is RSS, as noted in the article.
He also continues by talking about the social networking sites. Not only are users connecting to web sites, but using the websites to connect to other people. This is the biggest concern most people shoud consider. Utilize the Internet to make people connections, not socket connections. :-)
